Antique silver plate Wall Pocket / Torchère with Pierced Gallery car posey
Antique silver plate Wall Pocket / Torchère with Pierced Gallery or vintage car Posey holder rare !!!!! Fitted to the inside of a classic or vintage car
.
England, c.1900–1925
.
A beautifully proportioned antique silver plate wall pocket, sometimes referred to as a wall vase or torchère, dating to the early 20th century. Designed to be wall-mounted, or fitted to the dashboard of a vintage classic car this piece would originally have been used to hold dried flowers, greenery, or possibly a candle liner (now absent), bringing a decorative vertical accent to Edwardian and Arts & Crafts interiors.
.
The form is particularly attractive: a long, gently tapering trumpet body topped with a pierced lattice gallery, flaring outwards in a stylised floral crown. The piece mounts via a triangular wall plate with three fixing holes, giving it both strength and a pleasing geometric balance.
Stamp.ed discreetly to the shaft is “Epns”, indicating electro plate nickel silver

Possible Maker History – could be v & s ? Unfortunately can't quite make it out more research required
.
The stamp is most likely associated with a British silver makers or metalworking firm active in the late Victorian to Edwardian period. Makers of this type often supplied architectural and decorative fittings—wall pockets, sconces, umbrella holders, and ornamental household metalware—rather than luxury silver items.
.
While definitive attribution is difficult (as is common with utilitarian decorative metalwork of this era), the quality of the silver plate, the restrained pierced design, and the overall form strongly align with Arts & Crafts–influenced English manufacture, circa 1900–1925. These pieces were designed to be decorative yet functional, fitting neatly into middle-class Edwardian homes.

Condition
Good antique condition overall.
There is surface wear, patina, and age-related darkening to the silver plating particularly around joins and the pierced gallery, all entirely consistent with age and adding to its character. No splits or structural damage noted. Fixing holes are intact.
