-

A striking vintage Royal Staffordshire Pottery bowl by Wilkinson Ltd., Burslem, England, dating from the 1920s–1930s Art Deco period. This decorative low dish features an elegant orientalist design, with black transfer-printed pine branches hung with Japanese lanterns, hand-finished in vibrant rainbow hues. The surface shimmers with a beautiful lustre glaze, catching the light with iridescent tones.

The base is clearly stamped with the Wilkinson Ltd. Royal Staffordshire Pottery backstamp, confirming its early 20th-century origins. Wilkinson was renowned for producing high-quality decorative wares, and this piece reflects the period’s fascination with Japonisme and Art Deco styling.

Condition

This vintage bowl shows gentle age-related wear consistent with use and age, including light surface marks, glaze crazing, and tiny firing specks within the glaze, all adding to its authenticity and character. The lustre glaze remains bright, and the hand-painted lantern motifs are vivid and intact.
