Antique Victorian possibly Georgian late 19th century mahogany tea caddy. Very collectible, this lovely little box has, over its long history, been added to. The decorative paper on the inside of the lid has been added.

Unfortunately the key is missing, as is the tea lining. This only adds to the history and look ( reflected in the price). Some age related wear.

The containers used were often expensive and decorative, to fit in with the rest of a drawing-room or other reception room. Hot water was carried up from the kitchen, and the tea made by the mistress of the house, or under her supervision.

All items listed on Objet D'Art Stuff are antique, vintage, or pre-owned, meaning they have been previously used and loved. As such, each piece will show signs of age-related wear, which may include small marks, minor surface scratches, or other signs of use consistent with its history. We carefully describe and photograph all notable features and imperfections, but please understand that gentle wear is part of the character and authenticity of vintage and antique items.

Shipping Policy

All orders are processed within 3 to 5 business days (excluding weekends and UK bank holidays). Please allow for any potential delays due to a high volume of orders or postal service problems that are outside of our control.

Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at the checkout. Charges are based upon the size and weight of the item you have purchased and are in line with Royal Mail and/or Yodel shipping rates for the UK. Internationally shipping costs include a handling charge and any excise duties for the country of destination.

We do not offer in-store pick up or local delivery.

When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available.
