The design on the lid, featuring stylized birds, a deer, and floral motifs, is characteristic of the Jacobean style.

Biscuit manufacturers like Huntley & Palmers were known for producing a wide variety of these decorative tins.

Some tins were even designed with a small hook on the inside of the lid so they could be hung on a wall as a painting.
