Oh this is such a charming little treasure — the sort of piece that instantly conjures up powder-soft gloves, lace collars and the gentle rustle of silk 💚
---
This beautifully petite cut-glass perfume bottle is a darling survivor from the late Victorian to early Edwardian era, complete with its original fitted carry case. These little bottles were designed to slip neatly inside a chatelaine bag or reticule, ready for a discreet dab of scent while travelling or socialising — the height of feminine elegance at the turn of the century.
.
The bottle itself is made from clear cut glass, with a classic rounded body decorated in a cross-hatched pattern that sparkles gently in the light. It retains its original faceted glass stopper, which fits neatly into the frosted neck. The stopper and bottle are both in lovely vintage condition with light age-appropriate wear but no cracks or chips that detract from display.
.
What makes this piece especially special is the original shaped case. Soft and worn with time, the outer surface shows marks and patina earned honestly over a century of life — just the kind of wear we antique-lovers adore. Inside, the case is lined with a beautiful soft green silk, still remarkably intact and wonderfully evocative. The metal frame closes securely with sweet twin knopped clasps, and the bottle fits snugly inside as intended.
.
Together, the scent bottle and case make a deeply nostalgic and romantic display piece — perfect for collectors of perfume ephemera, Edwardian vanity items, or anyone who appreciates the tiny luxuries of the past.
Condition Notes
• Bottle in lovely antique condition
• Stopper present and secure
• Case shows age-related wear and soiling externally
• Silk lining intact but aged
• Displays beautifully and remains a complete set
.
Why We Love It
Because it tells a quiet story of elegance, grace and personal ritual. This isn’t just glass — it’s history you can hold.
.
Given the fact that the bottle is complete with its original fitted case (a lovely bonus), and factoring in the visible wear to the outer covering, makes this item rare!!
