This charming set of two vintage biscuit tins captures a moment in post-war Britain when biscuits weren’t just a pantry staple — they were presented as gifts, chosen for the tea table, the sideboard, or the cocktail hour.

Both tins retain their original paper/card presentation overlays — a feature that was never designed to last. These decorative sleeves originally included a lift or tear tab to reveal the tin beneath, creating a small “unveiling” moment for the recipient. Most were removed and discarded, making surviving examples — even with wear — increasingly scarce.

Decorated with a simple floral design and marked Glasgow & London, representing one of Britain’s best-known biscuit manufacturers of the era.
Both date to approximately the 1950s–early 1960s.

These are authentic vintage pieces and show honest age-related wear, which is typical for paper-over-tin packaging:
Surface wear, fading and staining to paper overlays
Creasing, small tears and edge wear
Some corner and structural wear consistent with age and storage
Tins beneath not inspected for display condition (paper overlays left intact)
