Vintage Lovatts England Pale Green Kitchenware Set – 3 Piece Langley Ware Style
Vintage Lovatts England Pale Green Kitchenware Set – 3 Piece Langley Ware Style Jug & Lidded Pots – 1½ Pint & ½ Pint
A beautifully nostalgic set of three vintage Lovatts England kitchenware pieces, finished in a soft pale green glaze with clean white interiors and wonderfully practical mid-century forms.
This charming set includes a tall handled jug, a larger lidded pot and a smaller matching lidded pot, each with that lovely simple utility shape so associated with traditional English kitchenware.
The bases retain their original printed marks, including “Lovatts England”, with the tall jug marked 1½ pint and the smaller piece marked ½ pint. The middle-sized wording is less clear, but the set is clearly related in colour, form and finish.
The glaze is a fresh, almost mint-green shade, with gentle tonal variation and natural firing speckles that give the pieces their quiet vintage character. The white interiors provide a lovely contrast, while the rounded lids with ball finials add a sweet domestic detail.
Two of the lidded pieces has a pierced strainer-style section, suggesting use for tea, coffee, hot drinks or general kitchen serving.
Lovatts pottery is associated with the historic Langley Mill pottery tradition in Derbyshire, England. The company became known for practical domestic wares, jugs, storage pieces and everyday kitchen ceramics, particularly during the early to mid-20th century. This set has all the appeal of that period: useful, unfussy, beautifully coloured and made for the rhythm of the working kitchen.
Today, pieces like these sit beautifully in a vintage kitchen, cottage interior, farmhouse dresser or open shelf display. They would make a particularly pretty grouping for collectors of Lovatts pottery, Langley Ware, English kitchenalia, green glazed ceramics or mid-century utility ware.
