Arts and crafts oak framed dressing table mirror. Lovely item with amazing aged mirror or plate as it is known. I would say this is 1940s hand carved legs with original brass fitting to mirror. I think there may have been 2 finials by the side of mirror these are missing but does not attract from the item
The birth of the Arts and Crafts movement in Britain in the late 19th century marked the beginning of a change in the value society placed on how things were made. This was a reaction to not only the damaging effects of industrialisation but also the relatively low status of the decorative arts.
