This wonderfully worn antique wooden bottle crate originates from Everard’s Brewery of Leicester, one of England’s oldest independent breweries, founded in 1849 by William Everard.

Constructed from solid wood with finger-jointed corners, wire-reinforced edges, and internal dividers, this crate was designed for the safe transport and storage of glass bottles. The original hand-cut carry handle remains intact, and the front retains its stencilled Everard’s brewery markings, complete with department and batch numbers – now softened beautifully by decades of use.

The interior is divided into individual compartments, originally intended to hold bottles securely in transit. Today, it lends itself just as well to stylish repurposing: think vinyl record storage, wine or spirit display, kitchen shelving, bathroom storage, or industrial wall mounting.
