Vintage early 20th century art deco pewter tea caddy by A.M.& co Sheffield
Vintage early 20th century art deco pewter tea caddy by A.M.& co Sheffield. This wonderful tea caddy is clearly marked on base. Unfortunately I can't find any information on maker etc but the style is certainly art deco, square lines, octagonal shape, rope decoration etc.

Some age related wear. It would polish to a silvery colour ( see interior pictures) but personally I love the patina aged look.

Pewter is a malleable metal alloy, historically consisting primarily of tin and lead, though lead has been largely removed due to toxicity and is replaced by antimony, copper, and sometimes silver in modern, safe compositions. It's valued for its distinct white colour, low melting point, and malleability, allowing for detailed casting into various items like tankards, gifts, and tableware.
