These decorative tins were popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and were often designed to be kept after the biscuits were eaten.

-

The design on the lid, featuring stylized birds, a deer, and floral motifs, is characteristic of the Jacobean style.

-

Biscuit manufacturers like Huntley & Palmers were known for producing a wide variety of these decorative tins.

-

Some tins were even designed with a small hook on the inside of the lid so they could be hung on a wall as a painting.

-

The tins were often embossed and came in various shapes and sizes.
