Vintage Crown Staffordshire Porcelain “Bath Crystals” Hanging Label

A beautifully nostalgic little piece of English bathroom charm — this vintage Crown Staffordshire porcelain “Bath Crystals” hanging label brings all the elegance of an old dressing table, powder room or Edwardian-style bathroom display.

The porcelain label is delicately shaped and decorated with a pretty floral garland, blue ribbon detail and fine gilt edging.

The words “Bath Crystals” are printed clearly to the centre, giving it that wonderful apothecary-meets-boudoir feel. It hangs from a darkened metal chain, adding a lovely aged contrast to the bright white porcelain.

The reverse is marked Crown Staffordshire, England, a respected Staffordshire porcelain maker known for decorative china, floral pieces and finely painted accessories.

This little label most likely dates from the early to mid-20th century, and would originally have been used to identify a bathroom or dressing-table jar of bath salts or scented crystals.

Condition

In good vintage condition with light age-related wear. The porcelain label displays beautifully, with clear lettering and attractive floral decoration. There is some darkening and oxidation to the metal chain and hanging loops, plus minor rubbing to the gilt edge, all in keeping with age and use. The bath crystals are for decorative display only and should not be used.
