Vintage large wooden crate probably originally for military/artillery use with wording. It is probably used for carrying spare parts differential and other military engine parts. Has some age related wear - see photos. I have sympathetically cleaned the crate and given it a light coat of polish. You could do more such as paint the hinges, stain darker if you wanted to. Personally, I love the aged look. It would make a great coffee table (see pictures) blanket / toy box / toolbox
85 cm wide 43 cm depth 33 cm high
A really well-made sturdy box, probably a rare item price is for box only all other items are illustration only
The image shows the text stencilled on it. The text appears to relate to military or logistical equipment. It suggests that the crate was used to transport a specific unit or equipment, possibly related to military operations, as indicated by terms like "PRED UNIT" (which might stand for Predictor Unit), "AZIMUTH," and the use of military-like serial numbers.
This crate likely stored and transported a device or part associated with azimuth (which is a concept in navigation and artillery referring to the angle between the direction of an object and a reference direction, usually north).
Please note a % of the profit will go to Blesma. Blesma stands for British Limbless Ex-Service Men's Association. It is a national charity that supports serving and ex-service men and women who have suffered limb loss, loss of the use of limbs, or loss of an eye or sight while serving in the British Armed Forces. Blesma's mission is to help these veterans lead independent and fulfilling lives, offering support in their communities throughout the UK.
