Vintage Art Nouveau Style Majolica Glazed Ceramic Photo Frame – 5 x 7 Oval
Vintage Art Nouveau Style Majolica Glazed Ceramic Photo Frame – 5 x 7 Oval Portrait Frame
A richly decorative vintage photo frame with wonderful colour, texture and old-world charm. This striking glazed ceramic frame has a beautifully raised design, with a deep mottled blue ground, olive green outer border, warm amber rope-twist oval surround, and brown foliate scrollwork to each corner. It has a lovely Arts & Crafts / Art Nouveau feel, with the kind of jewel-toned glaze palette often associated with majolica-style pottery.
The frame is designed to hold a 5 x 7 inch photograph, with an oval aperture that would suit a portrait, family photograph, wedding picture, period image or treasured keepsake. It has real decorative presence, making it just as appealing as a shelf, mantelpiece or bedside-table object as it is a practical photo frame.
The moulded ceramic front gives the piece a tactile, handcrafted look, with raised detailing that catches the light beautifully. The cream inner border shows attractive glaze crazing, adding to its vintage character and giving the frame a gently aged, nostalgic quality.
To the reverse, the frame has a black easel-style stand and retains its original-style backing. There is age-related wear to the back and edges, including scuffing and rubbing, as shown in the photographs. The ceramic front displays crazing and minor signs of age, but overall it remains a very decorative and usable vintage frame.
A lovely choice for anyone drawn to Art Nouveau styling, majolica-inspired ceramics, cottagecore interiors, maximalist display pieces or characterful vintage home décor.
