This utterly charming little keepsake tin comes from Perfumería Gal of Madrid, home of the much-loved Heno de Pravia soap — a Spanish fragrance classic first created in 1905 and inspired by the scent of freshly-cut hay in the village of Pravia.

The tin features a delightful reproduction of early-20th-century advertising artwork by Spanish illustrator Rafael Llimona (signed R. Llimona), whose sweet, wide-eyed characters brought warmth and whimsy to Gal’s perfume and soap campaigns. His gentle, playful style, with its hint of Art Deco innocence, makes this such a joy to look at — a little nostalgic scene frozen in time.
