Antique Austrian Victoria Porcelain Spa Beaker, Carlsbad, c.1900
Antique Austrian Victoria Porcelain Spa Beaker, Carlsbad, c.1900
.
A refined antique porcelain spa beaker produced by the Victoria Porcelain Works of Carlsbad (then Austria-Hungary), dating to the late 19th / early 20th century.
.
Formed in fine hard-paste porcelain, this elegant beaker features a gently flared rim and tapering body, decorated with delicately hand-painted floral sprays in soft enamel tones. A subtle graduated blue wash rises from the base, a hallmark of Carlsbad spa wares and vanity porcelains of the period, designed to appear light, calming, and refined.
.
The base bears a blue underglaze maker’s mark, showing “Victoria” with an angel device, the word “Carlsbad” (partially worn), and the pattern number 134, confirming its Austrian spa-town origin. Such pieces were commonly used as spa tumblers, vanity beakers, or washstand accessories, and are now highly collectible.
.
A charming survivor from the golden age of European spa culture, ideal for collectors of Carlsbad porcelain, Art Nouveau-era decorative wares, or as an elegant accent in a period-inspired interior.
