Antique Painted Metal Button with Floral Micro-Mosaic Design (c. 1890–1920)
-
A delightful little survivor from the turn of the century, this antique painted metal button captures the charm of late-Victorian and Edwardian fashion. The front features a raised floral design, hand-painted in soft shades of blue, pink, cream and red, mimicking the intricate look of Italian micro-mosaic jewellery that was so admired during the era.

The reverse is domed and painted cream, showing gentle age wear to the enamel which adds to its authenticity and character. Originally used on a lady’s jacket or decorative bodice, this button has a small central hole where the original wire shank was fixed.
