Vintage 1950s Anna Gasteiger lithograph signed print, Poppies and Delphiniums !! Please do not confuse this with a print (small dots in picture). This is a lithograph - far higher quality. My pictures do not do justice to this absolutely stunning item. Beautifully framed in a very, in keeping, frame. some age related wear.

Lithography (from Ancient Greek λίθος (líthos) 'stone' and γράφω (gráphō) 'to write')[1] is a planographic method of printing originally based on the immiscibility of oil and water.[2] The printing is from a stone (lithographic limestone) or a metal plate with a smooth surface. It was invented in 1796 by the German author and actor Alois Senefelder and was initially used mostly for musical scores and maps.[3][4] Lithography can be used to print text or images onto paper or other suitable material.[5] A lithograph is something printed by lithography, but this term is only used for fine art prints and some other, mostly older, types of printed matter, not for those made by modern commercial lithography.

Anna Gasteiger (German, 1877–1954), born Anna Sophie Meyer, was a painter best known for her still lifes, particularly her depictions of flowers. Early on, she developed a fascination with the Dutch masters of the 17th century, and went on to study at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. While in school, she studied under Julius Exter, and met sculptor Mathias Gasteiger, whom she eventually married.
In 1902, the artist couple bought a summeer house in Holzhausen am Ammersee, which soon became a popular site for other artists to come and work. The area quickly developed into a small artists’ colony where festivals and exhibitions were held. Today, the house serves as a museum, and features most of the original furniture, as well as works by the artists.
Gasteiger spent much of her time painting nature and landscapes, as well as still lifes. Her work is characterized by colorful, lively brushstrokes. She frequently painted in oil, using an impasto technique of thick layers applied over the entire canvas. She exhibited regularly throughout her career, particularly in Dresden and Munich.

Great item, was a glass jar with contents, well packaged, with a fragile label attached, arrived no problems. A near perfect example of a 50s/60s Hopkin and Williams chemical bottle. The postage was fair, the item was as described and a good value, especially with contents.
