Vintage Stratton of London pocket notecase with matching pen, gilt-tone case, telephone index and decorative peacock floral front. A charming mid-century handbag accessory or collector’s piece.

A charming little piece of vintage handbag history, this Stratton of London pocket notecase and pen set is both decorative and wonderfully nostalgic. Designed for the days before mobile phones, it opens to reveal a telephone index panel with space for names and numbers, together with a small notepad and slim matching pen neatly held alongside the case.

The front is decorated with a delicate peacock and floral design, framed by a soft blue border and set within a bright gilt-tone metal surround.

The reverse has a classic engine-turned textured gold-tone finish, with the Stratton of London name plaque to the centre. It has that lovely mid-century glamour associated with compact mirrors, vanity accessories and elegant handbag pieces from the 1960s and 1970s.

Inside, the telephone page is marked “Stratton of London”, and the piece retains its notepad and pen. The pen is included as part of the set, though as with many vintage pens it may require a new refill or gentle attention before use.
