Vintage EDCO Decorative Plates Romantic Rococo Courting Couple Scenes
Vintage EDCO Decorative Plates – Romantic Rococo Courting Couple Scenes (Pair, 12cm)
-
Add a touch of romantic elegance to your collection with this charming pair of vintage china plates by EDCO, Made in England. Measuring approximately 12cm in diameter, each plate features a beautifully detailed Rococo-inspired courting couple scene, taken from the works of the French artist Jean-Honoré Fragonard (1732–1806).
-
The plates are transfer-printed with hand-tinted colour accents in soft pinks, blues, yellows, and greens, and finished with a delicate gilded rim for added refinement. These designs were highly popular in the mid-20th century (1950s–60s), when EDCO produced decorative china pieces for the gift and souvenir market.
-
While small in size, these plates make a wonderful statement as cabinet displays, wall decor, or thoughtful vintage gifts. They capture the timeless elegance of 18th-century romanticism, reimagined for the mid-century home.
