The tin was produced by Macfarlane Lang & Co., one of the great Glasgow and London biscuit manufacturers, established in 1817 and later merged with McVitie & Price to form United Biscuits. This example proudly bears the Royal Warrant “By Appointment to H.M. the King”, placing it firmly in the reign of George V or George VI.
