Vintage Gilt Metal & Opaline Glass Oval Trinket / Pill Box — c. Mid-20th Century

This dainty vintage trinket box has such an understated elegance about it. Crafted from gilt-tone metal with decorative rope-twist edging, it features an oval white opaline-style glass lid surrounded by tiny beaded detailing. The glass has a soft, milky sheen that beautifully catches the light — simple, feminine and refined.
.
The box opens to reveal a small hollow interior, just the right size for keeping a special ring, keepsake, charm, rosary bead or perhaps a few tiny pills. The inside shows signs of age and patina, including a little verdigris, which only adds to the charm and authenticity of the piece.
.
Compact in size and oval in form, it sits beautifully on a dressing table, vanity tray or curio shelf and would make a thoughtful gift for someone who loves vintage treasures.
