A beautifully elegant antique silver plated and glass trumpet vase by **J.B. Chatterley & Sons Ltd of Birmingham**, dating to the early 20th century.

With its graceful, flowing lines and delicate glasswork, this attractive piece reflects the influence of the Art Nouveau movement, when designers embraced organic shapes, sweeping curves and elegant simplicity.

The vase features a tall, removable, clear glass trumpet with delicate vertical fluting and a generously flared, softly shaped rim. The glass sits within a silver plated circular holder, supported by three beautifully curved metal arms that sweep down towards a polished, circular pedestal base.

A decorative beaded collar and three small ball feet complete the design, giving the piece an appealing combination of elegance and architectural detail.

J.B. Chatterley & Sons Ltd was an established Birmingham manufacturer of silverware and silver plated goods, with origins dating to the late Victorian period.

Founded by John Bishop Chatterley, who was active from around 1880, the business operated from Albert Works in Birmingham, an important centre of Britain's jewellery and silver manufacturing industries.

The company registered its JBC&S Ltd maker's mark in 1896 and produced a variety of decorative and practical silverware, including tableware, serving pieces and ornamental objects.

The underside of this vase bears the maker's mark together with EPNS, denoting electroplated nickel silver.
