This handsome antique silver-plated covered butter or serving dish is unusual the handle is removable making a 2 dish server features a beautifully balanced rectangular form with a beaded gallery edge and a decorative loop handle to the lid, giving it that unmistakable late Victorian / Edwardian dining-table presence.

The dish separates into three parts – base tray, handle, and domed cover – making it both practical and decorative. Originally intended for butter, it also works beautifully today as a small entrée dish, cheese dish, or refined serving piece.
