# Philip Gray ‘Out Fishing’ – Framed Irish Landscape Art Print – Ross Castle, Killarney

**Price: £39.00**

A charming framed Irish landscape print entitled *Out Fishing*, attributed to renowned Irish artist Philip Gray, depicting a peaceful fishing scene beside the historic Ross Castle in Killarney, County Kerry.

Beautifully atmospheric, the composition captures a lone fisherman enjoying the tranquil waters of Lough Leane, with the imposing stone castle, wooded shoreline and purple Kerry mountains providing a picturesque backdrop.

The delicate watercolour-style colours create a lovely sense of calm, while the traditional gilt-effect decorative frame, with its ornate detailing and contrasting dark mount, provides an elegant finishing touch.

The artwork bears the artist's signature beneath the image, together with the handwritten-style title *Out Fishing – Ross Castle, Killarney, Co. Kerry*.( We believe these are original hand written by the artist)

**Artist & Publisher History**

Philip Gray, born in Cork, Ireland, in 1959, is an established Irish landscape and seascape artist whose work celebrates the natural beauty of Ireland and beyond.

Before pursuing his artistic career full-time, Gray served for 17 years as a diver in the Irish Navy. His experiences at sea helped shape his fascination with water, light and dramatic landscapes. His subsequent artistic career has taken him around the world, although the scenery of Ireland remains an important inspiration.

This particular print was produced by **Riverside Arts Ltd of Carrigaline, County Cork**, as confirmed by the surviving original publisher's label on the reverse, which also provides an interesting historical account of Ross Castle.

The castle itself dates to the 15th century and is one of County Kerry's best-known historical landmarks.

**Why We Love It**

There's something wonderfully nostalgic about this little scene. The solitary fisherman, still waters and historic Irish castle evoke a sense of slower days and peaceful afternoons.

We particularly love the contrast between the softly coloured landscape and the ornate gold-toned frame. A lovely decorative piece for a traditional home, country cottage, study or gallery wall.
