⚙️ Design & Features

Head: Cylindrical chrome-plated metal with narrow ventilation slots and a black matte rear section — typical of SIS lamp heads.

Reflector: Broad, white enamel interior shade for soft, even light dispersion.

Stem: Polished chrome with a black plastic connector (a signature SIS detail) allowing the shade to pivot and tilt.

Base: Weighted square base in black enamelled metal, accented with a teak or walnut veneer trim and a chrome central strip.

Switch: Original white push-button at the front edge — classic SIS styling from their 1960s–70s catalogue.

The craftsmanship and material mix are absolutely in line with other SIS Leuchten pieces sold under model codes like “SIS 1201” and “SIS 1220.”

💡 Stylistic Context

SIS (short for Spezial-Industrie-Service) was among the German manufacturers — alongside Hillebrand, Kaiser Idell, and Staff Leuchten — producing minimalist, functional desk lighting for both domestic and office settings. Their work often used chrome and enamel, echoing Bauhaus lines but with softer, more futuristic 1970s cues.

🧾 Condition Notes

Chrome retains strong shine with minor, age-related surface marks.

Bases and enamel show light wear consistent with vintage use.

Wiring appears safely replaced (modern PVC).

All components seem original, including switches and fittings — which is desirable for collectors.
