The box carries the classic wording “Sold at all branches of Boots the Chemists”, a lovely reminder of Boots’ long-standing place on the British high street — not just as a shop, but as part of everyday family life, home nursing and practical domestic care.

Before digital thermometers, plastic blister packs and instant readings, instruments like this were kept in bathroom cabinets, bedside drawers and first-aid boxes across the country. The metal protective tube is present and the glass thermometer appears intact from visual inspection, but it has not been tested or used.
