Vintage Clear Glass Bottle with Original Metal Screw Cap

A lovely old clear glass bottle with a wonderfully simple, utilitarian shape and plenty of authentic age-related character. The bottle has a square-sided body with rounded shoulders, a heavy moulded glass base, and retains its original ribbed metal screw cap, which gives it a pleasingly rustic, early-to-mid 20th-century feel.

The glass has attractive bubbles, imperfections and slight waviness, all adding to its vintage charm. The base appears to have faint moulded lettering or numbers, though these are difficult to read clearly, so I would not want to guess at the original maker. It may once have held a household, chemist, sauce, cordial, essence, or similar bottled product, but it is now best appreciated as a decorative vintage bottle.

This piece would look lovely styled on a kitchen shelf, in a rustic pantry display, with dried stems, or as part of a collection of old apothecary, utility or kitchen bottles. Displayed with other bottles for sale separately

Condition:

Good vintage condition overall, with age-related wear throughout. There are surface marks, cloudiness/residue inside the glass, scratches and small manufacturing imperfections. The metal collar and screw cap show rust, tarnish and patina, which is part of the bottle’s original aged character. Please see photographs.
