Vintage French “Coquillor” Butter Dish & Curler – Boxed with Instructions

A wonderfully quirky vintage French butter dish known as the “Coquillor”, complete with its original presentation box and illustrated French instruction leaflet.

This ingenious tableware piece was designed to turn chilled butter into attractive shell-shaped curls. The butter is placed inside the lower section and, as the upper tray is turned and pressed, the patterned openings form decorative portions ready to serve. The removable upper section then allows the butter curls to be presented neatly at the table.

Made from bright silver-coloured metal with a polished finish, the dish has an elegant stepped form and decorative cut-out detailing. A charming example of mid-20th-century French kitchenalia and a genuine conversation piece for a vintage kitchen, dining table or food-styling collection.

The dish remains in good vintage condition with light surface marks, tarnishing and signs of age-related use. The original cardboard box and instruction sheet show some storage wear, marks and discolouration, as pictured. The metal has not been tested, so we are selling it as silver-coloured metal rather than silver or silver plate.
