This is a lovely bit of whisky-bar nostalgia. Because it is an empty bottle with label it is a decorative collectible rather than a premium whisky collectable.

Vintage Haig Dimple Scots Whisky Bottle – John Haig & Co Ltd – Empty Collectible Scotch Display Bottle

Description

A wonderfully characterful vintage Dimple Scots whisky bottle by John Haig & Co. Ltd, instantly recognisable for its famous rounded triangular “dimpled” glass body and old-world Scotch whisky styling.

This empty display bottle carries the classic Dimple Scots branding, with frosted “DIMPLE” lettering to the front and surviving paper labels to the shoulder and lower front. The front label reads “Dimple Scots – John Haig & Co. Ltd – Owning Haig & Haig Ltd – Distilled and Bottled in Scotland”, while the shoulder label includes the royal appointment wording “By Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen, Purveyors of Scotch Whisky.” That wording places the bottle firmly in the post-1952 Elizabeth II period, most likely mid-20th century.

The bottle retains its decorative metal cap/wire closure, giving it that wonderfully theatrical old bar-back look. The glass itself has the famous three-sided dimpled form, originally associated with the Haig Dimple/Pinch style which became one of the most recognisable Scotch whisky bottle shapes of the 20th century.

John Haig & Co. is one of the great historic names in Scotch whisky. The Haig family’s distilling heritage is traditionally traced back to the 17th century, with John Haig later establishing Cameronbridge Distillery in Fife in 1824. Haig became closely associated with innovation in grain whisky and later with the famous blended Scotch market. Dimple, also known as Pinch in some export markets, was introduced in the late 19th century and became known for its distinctive pinched/dimpled bottle — a design as memorable as the whisky itself.

This example is now empty and offered purely as a vintage decorative collectible. It would look superb on a home bar, drinks cabinet, pub shelf, man cave, vintage kitchen display or as part of a whisky advertising collection.

Condition is very much part of its charm: the paper labels show age-related wear, tears, darkening and losses; the metal cap/wire has tarnish and patina; the glass has surface marks and residue from age/use. Please see photographs for full condition. No whisky or alcohol is included.

A lovely piece of Scottish whisky advertising history with plenty of nostalgic display appeal.
