Vintage Hammered Copper Lidded Container – Weba Ware, Made in England
A beautifully made vintage hammered copper lidded container produced by Weba Ware of England, a maker known for producing practical yet decorative copperware during the mid-20th century.
.
Crafted from richly toned hammered copper, this cylindrical container has a wonderfully warm glow that only comes with age. The subtle hammering across the surface catches the light beautifully, creating texture and depth in the metal. The simple fitted lid gives the piece a pleasingly balanced form, making it both functional and visually appealing.
.
Pieces like this were often used in the kitchen for storing tea, sugar, biscuits, or preserves, though today it would work just as well as a decorative storage pot, planter cover, or rustic kitchen accent.
.
The base carries the maker’s mark:
“Made in Weba Ware – England”
This mark identifies it as a product of Weba Ware, a British manufacturer known for producing copper kitchenware and household items during the mid-20th century (circa 1950s–1970s). Weba Ware pieces were popular for their durability and attractive hammered finish, which fitted perfectly with the post-war trend for natural materials and rustic kitchen aesthetics.
.
Over time the copper has developed a lovely natural patina with hints of iridescence on the base — a sign of genuine age and use.
.
Condition
Very good vintage condition with age-related wear and natural patina consistent with use. The hammered surface remains attractive and the lid fits neatly. Please see photographs as they form part of the description.
