The lid and body are richly adorned with high-relief chrysanthemums and scrolling foliage, traditional motifs symbolising joy, longevity, and renewal across both Indian and Chinese decorative arts. A plain circular cartouche sits at the centre of the lid — a design element often left for personal monograms when these pieces were created for export markets.
