Vintage original !Large Rombouts Coffee Beans Advertising Tin – Belgian Coffee
Vintage original Large Rombouts Coffee Beans Advertising Tin – Belgian Coffee Storage Tin
34 cm tall
20 cm round
A wonderfully decorative vintage Rombouts Coffee Beans tin, with a rich dark brown ground, bold red Gothic-style Rombouts branding and striking retro lettering spelling “Coffee Beans” across the front. The design has a lovely continental feel, with ornate scrolling detail, heraldic-style central crest and touches of gold, green, red and blue giving it real display presence.
This is a large cylindrical shop-style or catering coffee storage tin, ideal for collectors of vintage advertising tins, coffee memorabilia, Belgian kitchenalia, café décor or retro pantry display. It has just the right aged character: visible surface scuffs, light scratches, small marks, rubbing to the printed decoration and age-related wear to the base and rims. The interior/base shows signs of previous use, as expected for a practical vintage coffee tin. Empty tin only.
Rombouts is a Belgian coffee company founded in 1896 by Frans Rombouts, who began roasting coffee using a manual roaster and delivering freshly roasted beans by bicycle/cart. The company remained family-owned and became known for its long coffee-roasting heritage, later developing its one-cup filter coffee system and supplying coffee internationally. Rombouts is also associated with Belgian coffee tradition and has been recognised as a supplier to the Belgian Royal Court.
This particular tin appears to date from the late 20th century, likely around the 1970s–1980s, based on the graphic styling, typography and decorative printed metal design. May be older?
