A characterful vintage storage bin with a beautifully aged russet-brown finish, riveted construction and cut-out side handles. With its rectangular open-top form, reinforced corners and rows of dark metal studs, this piece has a strong utilitarian charm — somewhere between workshop storage, travelling equipment case and old institutional storage basket.

The outer surface has a warm reddish-brown leatherette or coated fibreboard finish, giving it a lovely aged patina. The rivets, folded edges and side reinforcements add to its industrial feel, while the open interior makes it a very usable display piece for the home or shop.

This would look fabulous used for blankets, magazines, firewood/kindling, shop display, dried flowers, vintage linens, rolls of fabric, or as a rustic prop piece. It has exactly the sort of honest wear that gives vintage storage its atmosphere — practical, textured and full of visual history.

The base has two wooden support rails underneath, adding stability and suggesting it was made for real use rather than purely decorative purposes. The cut-out handles at each end make it easy to move, although due to age it should be handled with care.

Condition:

In used vintage condition with plenty of age-related wear, including scuffs, scratches, surface marks, rubbing, areas of discolouration, some white paint marks, darkened rivets, worn edges and softened corners. There is visible wear to the corner seams and rim, as photographed. The interior also shows signs of previous use. These marks are part of its appeal and give the piece a strong rustic/industrial character. Please study photos carefully as they form part of the description.
