This solid timber crate dates to the early–mid 20th century and retains its bold black stencilled lettering, including “Schweppes”, “CRATE” and the original “DEPOSIT 3/-” marking — a charming reminder of Britain’s pre-decimal currency system.

Designed for heavy commercial use, the crate features cut-out hand grips, dovetail-jointed corners, and a beautifully time-worn surface showing scuffs, knocks, darkened grain and patina earned through decades of service.
