A wonderfully sculptural old copper jelly mould, with a bold deeply fluted geometric form and a lovely warm, aged finish.

Probably dating from the early 20th century, ( may be older) the mould has been formed in copper with a rolled rim and its original metal hanging ring, allowing it to be displayed in the traditional way on a kitchen wall. The pronounced moulded panels give it a particularly attractive architectural quality – a little more interesting than many of the simpler copper moulds we come across.

The interior retains its old tinned lining, now considerably darkened and worn through years of use. There is also natural oxidation and verdigris around the rim and fittings, together with surface marks, scratches and variations in colour. We have deliberately left all of this character intact.

No identifiable maker's mark is apparent.

A super piece of genuine old kitchenalia, equally appealing to a collector of copperware or simply hung amongst antique pans and utensils in a country, farmhouse or traditional kitchen.

Condition: Good decorative antique/vintage condition with wear commensurate with age and use. The interior lining is heavily aged and worn and we would therefore regard this primarily as a decorative/collectable item rather than recommend it for modern food preparation without professional assessment or re-tinning.
