Maker & design history

Lalique is one of the great names in French glass and crystal design. Founded from the legacy of René Lalique, the house became especially renowned for transforming perfume bottles into luxury art objects, combining sculptural form, frosted surfaces, relief decoration and refined decorative detail. Lalique’s own history notes that its relationship with perfumery has always been central to the brand, with Lalique Parfums launched in 1992 by Marie-Claude Lalique, René Lalique’s granddaughter.

The anemone flower is a particularly important Lalique motif. Lalique describes the anemone as a symbol of purity and innocence and notes that René Lalique used the flower as a recurring inspiration in jewellery and decorative objects, including an anemone vase design from 1912.

This piece follows that tradition beautifully: a rounded frosted crystal bottle formed as a large blooming flower, with polished highlights catching the light across the petals and contrasting black detailing at the centre.

Description

A beautiful Lalique France frosted crystal Anémone perfume bottle, designed with a sculptural floral front and a soft satin finish that gives the piece its signature Lalique glow. The raised petals are wonderfully tactile, with alternating frosted and clearer crystal areas creating depth and movement as the light passes through the glass.

At the centre of the flower are small black decorative details, giving definition to the design and drawing the eye into the bloom. The rounded form sits neatly on a small flat foot, with a matching frosted stopper completing the piece.

The base/signature area is etched Lalique France, though the mark is faint and best seen under magnification. A very elegant collector’s piece, ideal for a dressing table, perfume bottle collection, Lalique display, or luxury vintage interiors styling.

Condition

Presents beautifully overall. Please expect light age-related handling wear consistent with a previously owned crystal perfume bottle. the stopper and body are intact, this bottle is in near new condition!!! but buyers should study the images carefully as they form part of the description. The etched signature is faint/partly difficult to photograph, but is present under magnification.
