This lovely vintage Radiance Riviera Assorted Toffee tin is a wonderfully decorative survivor, with its rich deep red ground, bold cream lettering and elegant scroll details still giving it real shelf presence today.

Made by Radiance Ltd., Doncaster, England, this is a charming example of early 20th century English confectionery packaging, likely dating to around the 1920s to 1930s.

Originally made to hold Riviera Assorted Toffee, it would once have sat on a shop counter or in a pantry, bringing a little everyday luxury into the home. Now, it makes a lovely collectible in its own right and would look wonderful displayed in a kitchen, pantry, shop interior, or mixed into a collection of vintage advertising tins.

The proportions are neat and useful too, and although it is now empty, it still works beautifully as a decorative storage tin for letters, postcards, ephemera, sewing bits, or other small treasures.

The lid is printed with “Radiance Riviera Assorted Toffee”, while the side panels carry “Radiance Toffee” and one end is marked “Manufactured by Radiance Ltd., Doncaster, England”. The base is plain metal and the interior shows its age, with worn lining remnants and signs of long use, all of which add to its authentic vintage charm.

This is not a pristine piece, and that is very much part of its appeal. There is visible rubbing, scuffing, age-related wear, darkening to the metal edges, surface marks and general patina throughout. Condition
Vintage condition with age-related wear throughout. There is rubbing to the printed finish, scratches, scuffs, edge wear, patina to the metal, and notable wear inside including remnants of the original lining. Structurally sound and displays beautifully.
