Vintage Salvaged Industrial Steel Pendant Light Shade – Grey and Chrome 30cm

A characterful salvaged industrial pendant light shade with a wonderfully utilitarian look.

The shade is made from pressed/spun steel with a soft grey finish and is topped with a substantial chrome-plated ventilated gallery. The gallery has a particularly attractive tiered construction, with small spacers between the sections and a raised central collar, giving the whole piece a strong workshop, factory or architectural salvage feel.

Dating is difficult without a visible maker’s mark, but the construction and surviving “MAX 40W” label suggest a later 20th-century fitting, probably circa 1970s–1990s. It may originally have been used in a workshop, commercial building or similar industrial setting.

The shade has been salvaged and is sold as found. There is no flex, ceiling rose or lamp holder included, so it will require suitable electrical fittings before use. We recommend that any installation or conversion is carried out by a suitably qualified person.

Condition is good for a salvaged vintage piece, with surface scratches, rubbing, marks and small areas of wear consistent with previous use. There is some light corrosion and oxidation around the screws and minor spotting to the chrome gallery. These signs of age add to its authentic industrial character rather than detracting from it.

A great choice for a kitchen, workshop-inspired interior, utility room, bar, café or loft-style space, and equally good as a decorative salvage piece.
