Vintage 11 Bottle Black Metal Wine Rack – Decorative Scrollwork

A wonderfully decorative vintage wine rack with an unusual 11-bottle capacity, combining practical bottle storage with plenty of late 20th-century character.

Made from sturdy black-finished metal, the rack has a substantial fixed frame decorated with circular bottle holders, sweeping scrollwork and charming tightly curled terminals to the four upper corners. An arched metal handle finishes the top and adds to its attractive Mediterranean or Spanish Revival-inspired appearance.

The bottles are arranged across three rows of three with a further row of two, giving room for eleven standard wine bottles in total. Unlike some similar racks, this example is solidly constructed and does not fold or collapse.

Probably dating from the 1980s–1990s, its dark metalwork and elaborate scrolling are wonderfully evocative of the rustic Mediterranean and country-house interiors popular during the period. Today it would work equally well in a traditional kitchen, dining room, home bar or more eclectic contemporary interior.

We have described the construction as black metal rather than true wrought iron, as the regular rod work and welded construction suggest a manufactured wrought-iron style piece rather than traditionally hand-forged ironwork.
