Vintage 1950s Blue Floral Confectionery Tin with Hinged Lid

A charming small vintage confectionery tin, dating from around the 1950s and decorated with colourful pink, red and yellow roses against a rich blue background.

The floral panels are combined with delicate gold-coloured scrollwork and decorative garden-gate motifs, giving the tin a wonderfully nostalgic mid-century appearance. Its unusual chamfered rectangular shape and hinged lid make it an attractive display piece as well as a useful little storage container.

Originally produced for sweets, toffees or another small confectionery product, the tin is now unmarked and its original maker cannot be confirmed. It would be lovely reused for buttons, sewing notions, keepsakes, jewellery, craft supplies or simply displayed as part of a collection of vintage tins.

The tin has plenty of genuine age and character. There is rubbing, scratching, tarnishing, surface marking and oxidation throughout, with heavier wear to the interior and underside.
