A charming antique Edwardian postcard album, dating to approximately 1905–1915, with a beautifully decorative dark blue cover featuring elegant gold-coloured Art Nouveau scrollwork and delicate blue and white flowers.

The flowing floral design, sweeping lines and ornate lettering are wonderfully characteristic of the Art Nouveau period. The blue and white flowers appear to have been applied over the original gold-coloured decoration, possibly as a later embellishment, although their exact age and originality have not been established.

Inside, the album retains its original grey-green card pages, with diagonal corner slots designed to hold postcards securely in place. Printed inside the back cover are the words "BRITISH MANUFACTURE – 300 CARDS", indicating its original advertised capacity.

Albums such as this were particularly popular during the Edwardian era, when collecting and exchanging picture postcards became a fashionable pastime. They were treasured keepsakes, preserving memories of holidays, family occasions, friendships and places visited.

Today, this lovely old album offers an appealing glimpse into the social history of the early 20th century.

- The internal pages show age-related marks and some wear around the postcard slots.

- There is visible wear and separation around the lower spine and binding, with some fraying to the covering material.

- The album is offered empty, without postcards.

The album has not been restored and retains its aged appearance. Please study all photographs carefully, particularly those showing the binding and internal pages, as these form an important part of the condition description.
