A wonderfully colourful vintage Daher tin, dating to approximately the 1960s–1970s, featuring an intricate floral design in shades of blue, yellow, cream, green and pink against a rich, dark background.

This charming rectangular tin has a hinged lid, decorated with an elaborate arrangement of stylised flowers and foliage, framed by fine gold-coloured borders. The floral decoration continues around all four sides, creating a beautifully detailed and eye-catching piece of vintage decorative storage.

The exterior has an attractive embossed and lithographed finish, while the interior features further embossed floral detailing, adding an unexpected decorative touch when the lid is opened.

Daher was an American decorative tinware business associated with Long Island City, New York. Particularly popular during the mid-20th century, Daher commissioned colourful decorative metalware from manufacturers in Britain and Europe.

The company's distinctive designs often featured bold floral patterns, vibrant colours and ornamental detailing, reflecting the decorative fashions of the 1960s and 1970s.

Why We Love It

We love the wonderfully busy floral design and the combination of vibrant colours against the almost black background. There's something rather cheerful about these vintage Daher tins, and the embossed floral decoration inside the lid is an especially lovely finishing touch.
