Vintage Original Oil on Canvas Painting – Young Girl – Signed Dick Jones Framed

Vintage Original Oil on Canvas Painting – Young Girl – Signed Dick Jones – Framed

A charming and atmospheric original oil on canvas painting, signed Dick Jones, depicting a young girl seated in a quiet, thoughtful moment.

Beautifully executed in a loose, impressionistic style, the painting combines warm russet browns, deep earthy tones and soft creams and blues. The artist's confident brushwork and generous application of oil paint create wonderful texture and depth, particularly in the girl's clothing, where areas of raised impasto bring the figure to life.

There is something wonderfully intimate about this little painting. The informal composition captures an everyday moment, giving it a nostalgic quality and a sense of warmth and familiarity.

Believed to date from the mid-to-late 20th century, the painting is signed Dick Jones in reddish paint along the lower edge of the canvas.

The Artist – Dick Jones

The painting bears the signature Dick Jones, a name associated with a number of 20th-century artworks appearing on the secondary art market.

However, we have not been able to establish a definitive attribution or detailed biography for the artist responsible for this particular work.

The signature offers an intriguing opportunity for further research, and it is possible that additional investigation could reveal more about the artist, the painting's origins and its history.

We have therefore chosen to offer the painting as an original oil on canvas, signed Dick Jones, without making any unverified claims regarding the artist's identity.

Presentation & Condition

The painting is presented in a simple wooden frame with a dark recessed mount, which complements the rich, warm tones of the artwork.

The oil painting displays attractive textured brushwork with visible variations in the painted surface. There are some minor marks and signs of age and handling, consistent with a vintage piece.

Please study the photographs carefully, as these form an important part of the description.

Why We Love It

Small original paintings have a charm all of their own, and this one is particularly appealing. The rich colours, expressive brushwork and beautifully observed subject give it a character that a reproduction simply cannot replicate.

A lovely addition to a gallery wall, a cosy reading corner or a collection of vintage original artwork.

And, of course, there is the added intrigue of the artist's signature and the possibility of discovering more about its history.

A delightful little original painting with warmth, character and a story still waiting to be uncovered.

As with all our vintage and antique pieces, this painting is described to the best of our knowledge. Artist attribution and precise date have not been independently authenticated. All photographs show the actual item and have not been digitally enhanced.
